Latest Update : Tuesday 21st October 2025
Normal service is resumed. Yesterday’s Global AWS Outage – NRG Digital Services Unaffected.
On Monday, 20th October 2025, Amazon Web Services (AWS) experienced a significant global outage affecting thousands of businesses, banks including Lloyds and Halifax, social media platforms, and apps like Snapchat, Reddit, and Roblox. The disruption—linked to a DNS (Domain Name System) error—resulted in intermittent downtime for services across Europe and the US.
We want to reassure all NRG Digital clients that while we do indeed use AWS to host the majority of our sites, our own infrastructure remained stable throughout the incident. Your websites, email services, and any digital services we host on your behalf were not impacted.
All systems were—and continue to be—fully operational.
We continue to monitor our cloud servers daily and remain confident in AWS as one of the most trusted global hosting platforms. Occasional outages—though rare—do occur even with the biggest names in tech, but rest assured that your data is safe, secure, and backed up.
If you experienced any hiccups or need us to double-check anything specific for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
